June Updates

Ok, so I know that I havent updated in about a month, but we have had a busy month. Ryan started Daycare on June 9th. We found a home daycare about 1.5 miles from home. His caregiver has had a home daycare for 25 years. She is very motherly and caring. On the 3rd day, she was calling him, 'My Ryan'. She has 6 children she looks after and now that it is summer, has a couple older school age children that help out. Last week, they went to the park for a few hours. He had a blast. The other kids love playing with him too. Ryan really responds to the activity and movement of the kids. He smiles and laughs a lot around the kids.

Since Ryan was so premature, he qualifies for a state program that allows him to get physical and occupational therapy once a week. He gets a one hour session each Tuesday for the next 3 years. He gets worked over and we are taught different exercises to work into his playtime to help him develop his skills. The first session was on the 17th. The therapist recommended getting a Bumbo chair and a yoga ball. I didnt realize how much fun I can have with him while I am getting a workout too. He just smiles and looks around.
On the 14th, we had a busy day...a bridal shower for my cousin and his fiance and a high school graduation party for Tim's cousin. At the shower, Ryan hooked up with his cousin Aiden again. All of the aunts and great-aunts loved holding both of these little guys. Aiden is a little older, corrected age. He is a little more developmentally advanced, but honestly, I think Ryan weights a little more and is a tad bit taller. Aiden has a little more control of his head and eyes, but when we see Aiden, we know that whatever Aiden does now, Ryan should be doing about a month later. We will find out tomorrow when we go to the doctor for his 6 month checkup to see how much he weighs. Yes, He is 6 months old! Where did the time go?

On the 15th, we celebrated Tim's first Father's Day. We went over to Tim's aunt and uncle's for the afternoon. We spent time with Great-Grandpa and watched the Cardinals game. A pretty exciting day.
He is just an amazing little guy. He gets 'tummy time' every day and Ryan is just starting to push up a little. He is getting more control of holding his head up everyday. His legs are so strong and when you hold him up on his feet, he acts like he wants to take some steps and walk. He definitely has a great grip, pulling out a big chunk of my hair and nearly choking me when he pulled on my necklace! He is focusing more everyday and can track movement from one side of the room to the other. He is batting at toys and tries to grab his rattle.
Well enjoy the photos

Hopefully it wont be a month before I post again.
